I really like this story, and it is told in such a knowledgeable way. But I knew it was a gamer story right away—because of the title and the first paragraph. It’s well-done and quite believable, especially the description of the operation. Foley must be familiar with that game—or games in general. And the ending gave me a chuckle even though I was expecting it. Still, if any of my sons had ever called me a “fat witch,” that would have been the last “game” they ever played. LOL. 🙂
Hi Jane, the funny thing is that I’m actually not much of a gamer. However, I work with a lot of students who live and breathe these games, so I’ve heard a lot about them. I also love movies, as you know, and those two mediums are crossing over more and more. The theme of the story is what appealed to me the most. The ultra-polite gamer persona vs. the actual human being playing the game. As always, thanks for reading!
