DC Movies, String Theory, Parallel Worlds, and You
Ezra Miller confirmed on MTV News that he will indeed play Barry Allen and The Flash in 2018’s film. This troubles some because the CW already has a very successful, much loved television show of the same name starring the same character played by Grant Gustin. Of course, if you’ve been paying close attention, you’ll…

Batman v Superman – Actions Have Consequences
After the initial trailer released for Batman v Superman, I felt excited. Very excited. But that excitement cannot compare to the sheer exuberance I experienced while watching the latest trailer the other day. Why so very enthusiastic? It’s not merely the sight of Wonder Woman in all her Amazonian glory. It’s not just watching Batman…

From the Beardstown High School Class of 1995
My hometown of Beardstown has a tradition of holding a class reunion each summer at the high school. We operate on five year increments, so this year welcomed the class of 1985, 1990, 1995, etc. The alumni association holds a wonderful banquet at the school, and each graduating class submits a few words to be…

Chewie … We’re All Home
If you somehow missed it last week … In my mind, any concerns about Star Wars: The Force Awakens are now officially put to rest. I shamelessly hereby abandon all cynicism and firmly place my fan boy hat atop my head. The above trailer hit all the right chords with me. This looks like Star…

My First Thoughts Concerning the Batman v. Superman Trailer

About Arrested Development Season 4
My wife and I loved Arrested Development when it aired on Fox. Sure, it took some getting used to, but we came to adore its weird, quirky stories with such flawed, lovably dysfunctional characters. From week to week, I’d have a new favorite Bluth, which says a lot about the show’s magic. When we heard…

If you live in the Bloomington-Normal area, I urge you to attend Monica Estabrook’s Strong Girls photography exhibit. The event will be held at Heartland Community College in Normal, IL. According to their website, “Estabrook describes Strong Girls as a series that confronts gender biases through black and white photography. The photos portray Estabrook’s former art…

Do You Like Jewelry? Check Out Steampunk Mamas!
Jewelry is not something I ordinarily write about, but my aunt and cousin have created a brand of jewelry all their own, and I implore you to check them out! They call their brand Steampunk Mamas and it is obviously meant to appeal to the steampunk fan. If you’re unfamiliar, steampunk is a genre largely…

Concerning Star Wars: Rebels
Before I begin, it should be noted I’m thirty-eight years old – born in 1977. I grew up watching the original Star Wars movies. I clearly remember seeing Return Of the Jedi in the movie theater. My older brother, best friend, and I loved the action figures, vehicles, and sets. I had lunch boxes, masks,…

Regarding NBC’s Constantine
I should say from the start that I am not a John Constantine die hard fan. In fact, until Justice League Dark, I really wasn’t terribly familiar with the character. I knew of him, but that was really about it. When I heard NBC planned to air a show using the character, I got excited.…
