“Over My Dead Body” – October News and Views For the Young At Heart Short Story

Preston, Jared, Reggie, and Dale thought they’d be the first to successfully pull a prank on their math teacher, Mr. Washington.  But when Mr. Washington catches them in the act, he runs down his front porch, takes a terrible tumble upon his front walk, and doesn’t get up.  The boys soon discover their Halloween prank won’t be unraveling as planned.

To find out what happens to Mr. Washington and the boys, read “Over My Dead Body,” my short story found in both the Peoria and Bloomington editions of the free periodical, News and Views for the Young at Heart.

“Faces Unknown” – My September News and Views Short Story

Lois loves company, and it’s a good thing, because she’s always got a room full of visitors!  But when Angelica Black enters the party, Lois is disturbed that she can’t put her finger on how she knows the woman, especially because Angelica doesn’t seem to recognize anyone surrounding her.  But just who is this Angelica Black, why has she come to visit Lois, and what is Angelica’s relationship to the only child in the room – a pouting, little girl?

You can discover the answers to these questions by reading “Faces Unknown,” my short story found in both the Peoria and Bloomington editions of the free periodical, News and Views for the Young at Heart.

“A Turn for the Worse” – My April Short Story in Bloomington News & Views for the Young at Heart

I’m particularly excited about my latest story in Bloomington News & Views for the Young at Heart.  It’s called “A Turn for the Worse,” and I have to tell you it’s one of my favorites in recent memory.

Kent Carter is a  man who enjoys the simple things in life, such as his favorite magazine and a quiet morning at the coffeehouse.  But when a distraught stranger enters the establishment, Kent’s perspective on humanity radically changes.
