A Sketch of Xaphan from Dr. Nekros: Phantasms and Chicanery
Above is the grand tormentor of Dr. Nekros … the demon Xaphan. Fourteen years ago this demon slashed Dr. Nekros’ face and literally tried to tear his heart out. Ever since, Dr. Nekros hasn’t been able to rest due to his obsession with getting revenge against the ghoul.
Xaphan is mentioned in Dr. Nekros: The Tragedian (Volume I, Episode I), and Dr. Nekros’ ex-wife, Zetta, even sees the monster in a nightmare in Dr. Nekros: Phantasms and Chicanery.
The only question is … when will we see Xaphan again … and what will it mean for Dr. Nekros and Zetta?
A Sketch of Zetta Southerland from Dr. Nekros: The Tragedian
This is a pretty basic pencil sketch I made of Zetta Southerland, Dr. Nekros’ ex-wife from Dr. Nekros: The Tragedian. I really need to draw characters that I know I’m committing a great deal of time to because it makes them stand out more in my imagination and become more realistic.
Zetta is a very important character in the ongoing serial featuring she and Dr. Nekros. Their story will unfold over three volumes with six episodes per volume. The first episode has been released and it’s entitled Dr. Nekros: The Tragedian (Volume I, Episode I).
The second episode will come out soon. It focuses on Zetta and is called Dr. Nekros: Phantasms and Chicanery.
A 2008 Sketch of Dr. Nekros from Dr. Nekros: The Tragedian
This is a simple pencil drawing I did in 2008 of Dr. Nekros as I wrote Dr. Nekros: The Tragedian. As you’ve probably noticed, it helps me quite a bit to draw my characters so that I can better envision them within my mind. It makes them real … to me.
Don’t forget, Dr. Nekros will be a recurring character in an eighteen-part series. If you want to get in on the ground floor, read the first episode, Dr. Nekros: The Tragedian (1 of 18). It’s hard to believe it’s all drawing to an end.

Dr. Nekros Now On Kindle!
I’m very excited to announce the arrival of Dr. Nekros to the Amazon Kindle!
Dr. Nekros is a ghost hunter with a terribly scarred face. He travels the countryside in a haunted 1936 Packard, a car for which he rarely gets along. To make matters worse, his ex-wife Zetta reappears after thirteen years of separation, and she has a rather unusual demand. But how will her re-emergence alter Dr. Nekros’ investigations, and, more importantly, his true objective?
The plight of Dr. Nekros will span three volumes with each volume comprised of six episodes. Each episode will be released two months apart. This is the beginning of a three year odyssey!
This series is exclusive to the Amazon Kindle as well as Kindle applications, and each episode will cost $00.99.
Join me as we explore the next phase of Dr. Nekros and Zetta’s relationship, the cause of Dr. Nekros’ disfigurement, how the Packard came to be haunted, why Zetta would leave her beloved husband and adored children, and Dr. Nekros’ real mission. There will be love, betrayal, monsters, reunions, ghosts, trickery, revenge, death, black magic, and battles … But will there be salvation?

Read Dr. Nekros: Phantasms and Chicanery (Volume I, Episode II)
The next installment of my Dr. Nekros series has been released though the Amazon Shorts program, and it’s called Dr. Nekros: Phantasms and Chicanery.
In this second installment, Dr. Nekros surprises his ex-wife, Zetta, with a phone call requesting help on what he says is an authentic haunting. With the support of her loving husband, Jason, she takes her video equipment and convenes with Dr. Nekros. But after spending the night on a loveseat with her former spouse and dreaming of the night he first came home after the demon Xaphan brutalized him, she doesn’t know what to believe about the haunting, her ex-husband, or herself.

Meet Dr. Nekros!
I’m very pleased to announce the arrival of Dr. Nekros, a ghost hunter tracking down the demon who disfigured him, all while trying to ditch his ex-wife! Dr. Nekros will be the lead character in a serialized story that I hope to span a three-year period.
The first year, which I call Volume I, will have six episodes. Volume II and Volume III will also have six episodes per volume.
The idea is that each story can stand alone as an entertaining and provoking experience, but all episodes ultimately work to tell a larger story, an epic story.
But, all travels must begin with a single step, and so I can’t tell you how much I hope you’ll give “Dr. Nekros: The Tragedian” a chance.
